Just a few moments ago, we were informed by Mr. Łukasz Zemczak about the latest work done by the Ubuntu Touch developers in preparation for the upcoming OTA-7 software update.

According to Mr. Zemczak's email that we previously received, the testing for the Ubuntu Touch OTA-7 update continues, as reported by Softpedia earlier today, October 9, and the devs managed to land all the extra silos, as well as to re-spun the Release Candidate (RC) image.

They also succeeded in fixing a small yet annoying issue for the Unity 8 notifications, plugging a bug from the UI Toolkit (UITK) corner case of button-inside-label, and releasing a new version of the System Settings app that includes changes to the Security and Sound sections.

"So far from the testing things look pretty good, we probably won't need any additional re-spins," states Łukasz Zemczak. "Besides that, in the background the preparations for OTA-8 are slowly starting. We will announce the final timeline for the next release next week."

As you can see, the OTA-7 has not even been released yet and the Ubuntu Touch developers are already preparing for the next major software update of the Ubuntu-based mobile operating system, OTA-8, which might see the light of day sometime in November. Until then, fingers crossed for the release of OTA-7 on October 19.
