A new update will be made available for Ubuntu Touch

Ubuntu Touch is always receiving updates and all sort of improvements, and regular users get to experience those changes when a new OTA update is made available. From the looks of it, one of the changes that will come shortly is a new boot screen.

The Ubuntu boot screen for the desktop flavor is very well-known, even if the users with SSD drives don't really have the time to see it properly. Also, if you use proprietary drivers in Ubuntu, that boot screen is going to be ugly. That doesn't happen on the mobile front, though. Ubuntu Touch currently has a nice and animated boot screen, but it's going to get better.

The developers have just pushed another boot screen that has those running dots from the desktop flavor. It might not feel like much, but if Canonical is aiming towards complete convergence, it would be weird to have different boot animations on the two flavors.

"Today's #Ubuntu phone update, a new boot splash animation that features the default wallpaper instead of a black background, and the familiar dot progression from the desktop boot splash. Looks nice," wrote Canonical's Michael Hall on Google+.

As you can imagine, he wasn't talking about the stable branch of Ubuntu Touch. These changes have just landed in the daily-build channel, which is pretty advanced and extremely unstable.
