The wait is finally over, and you can now download the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) operating for both desktops and servers, as Canonical has officially unveiled the OS earlier today.

We've already told you everything there is to know about the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, as well as Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS, so the time has come now for you to get a quick visual tour of the latest Ubuntu Linux operating system, the Xenial Xerus.

We have to admit that not much has changed visually as far as the Unity interface of Ubuntu in the 16.04 release is concerned. It still consists of the Unity Launcher, which you can now move to the bottom of the screen, and the Unity Panel with the indicators and app menus.

As with any new Ubuntu release, the collection of wallpapers included in the default install has been refreshed with a set of 10 photos and 2 illustrations contributed by the skilled Ubuntu Linux community.

As noted in our initial report, there seems to be better support for HiDPI displays, though we still encounter some issues with the Nautilus file manager, which also manages the desktop, on our Full HD (1080p) Optimus laptop.

Other than that, there are minor improvements to the default icons and desktop themes, which most of you won't even notice. Without further ado, enjoy the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) screenshot tour below, and download the Live ISOs.
