Ubuntu users need to upgrade their systems to get it

The Ubufox package has been upgraded by Canonical for the Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS operating systems.

Each major Firefox upgrade on Ubuntu is always accompanied by an update for the Ubufox package. In fact, the Ubuntu maintainers for Firefox managed to push the update to version 40 really quickly. Much faster than usual, actually.

Mozilla Firefox 40 brought some very interesting features and improvements to Linux users, but also some issues.

"USN-2702-1 fixed vulnerabilities in Firefox. This update provides the corresponding updates for Ubufox," say the maintainers in the security notification. Beside all the features in the new version of the web browser, there are also a lot of security issues that have been corrected and which have been covered by the USN-2702-1 upgrade.

Users should upgrade their Linux distribution in order to get the latest package. To apply the patch, users can simply run the Update Manager application or they can use the terminal. Just open one and enter the following commands (root is needed):

code
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
