Softpedia was informed today by 4MLinux developer Zbigniew Konojacki about the immediate availability of version 21.0 of his TheSSS (The Smallest Server Suite) Linux-based server-oriented operating system.

Based on 4MLinux Server 21.0, TheSSS 21.0 is powered by the long-term supported Linux 4.4.30 kernel and includes the Apache 2.4.25 web server, MariaDB 10.1.21 database server, and PHP 5.6.30 server-side programming language. This is also the first TheSSS release to come pre-installed with the LFTP 4.7.5 open-source FTP client.

"This release is based on the 4MLinux Server 21.0, meaning that the components of the LAMP server are now: Linux 4.4.30, Apache 2.4.25, MariaDB 10.1.21, and PHP 5.6.30," said Zbigniew Konojacki in the release announcement. "This is the first TheSSS release that includes the LFTP utility (v. 4.7.5)."

TheSSS (The Smallest Server Suite) is a very lightweight server-oriented operating system that's distributed as a live ISO image, which means that you can set up a server in minutes without installing anything on your personal computer. It could come in handy to various web developers and testers.

TheSSS 21.0 is now available for download from our website as a live ISO image that you can write to either a CD disc or a USB flash drive (recommended). It can be booted on an older 32-bit computer or a modern 64-bit machine. More details about TheSSS should be available for your reading pleasure on the official website of the distribution.
