The Steam for Linux platform has been updated once more, and a new Beta version of the client is now available to users who have subscribed to that particular branch.

Soon after the stable version of the Steam client has been released just a week ago, a new development branch has been started. Only a few versions have been pushed out the door until now, so things have just started to become interesting.

According to the changelog, a title bar button to switch in and out of VR mode has been added, a Videos filter has been added to the Big Picture Library, as has a clearer identification of videos in the Big Picture Store and the Library.

Support has been implemented for free videos to the library in the Big Picture mode, the ability to select the On-Screen keyboard style you want to use by default is now available, and a rare continuous error dialog on login has been corrected.

If you want to test this branch of the Steam client, you will have to subscribe to the Beta branch, in the Settings. You will have to reboot the client and then download the new version.
