The Steam developers seem to be determined to release a huge update, and they are still pushing changes into the Beta branch. A new small iteration of the Steam for Linux client has been released, with a number of minor changes.

Every couple of months, a new stable version of the Steam client is released. It's usually made of smaller Beta releases, but this latest cycle has been quite long, and it's very likely that we'll have a huge launch. They don't give any indication of when that is going to happen, so it could be even tomorrow.

According to the changelog, a regression that occurred with the "Recent" filter in library showing the wrong items has been fixed, additional communication has been added around the controller support when viewing games in your library, the startup performance for Big Picture has been improved so that images don't pop in on load, the URL entry into the Web Browser is now submitted correctly, games that are in the process of uninstalling no longer appear in the Downloads page, and a crash that occurred when users were mashing the A button on a game controller while accepting an EULA for a game on launch has been fixed.

Also, streaming controller support has been implemented for Fairy Bloom Freesia and Ys Origin, and some graphical issues during the streaming Dandelion have been corrected. You can download Steam for Linux from Softpedia and enter the Beta program from Settings.
