aLinux, a distribution based on GNU/Linux that aims to replace Microsoft Windows 8 XP/Vista and Apple Mac OS X, is now at version 17.0 Beta 2.

aLinux 1.7.0 Beta 2 is based on KDE and features a lot of preinstalled packages, such as GCC, Pidgin, Kwrite, GLIBC, 11 games, GIMP, KView Image Browser, Clam-AV AntiVirus, and more.

Highlights of aLinux 17.0 Beta 2:

• The distribution still uses KDE desktop environment 3.5.10; • More cloud features have been implemented; • KOffice Word, Spreadsheet and Presentational programs have been replaced with the more modern "Microsoft Office" contender "Google Drive aka Docs."
