phpMyAdmin, the popular tool written in PHP and intended to handle the administration of MySQL databases, has just reached version 4.2.0.

The final iteration of phpMyAdmin 4.2.0 has been released and comes with a large number of changes and improvements. It's been a while since the previous major update and, after a few RC versions, it was time for more important fixes.

According to the changelog, the ability to save and load queries in Query By Example has been added, the navigation tabs have been fixed and are no longer scrolling off the screen, a function can now be easily added to all the rows when inserting several rows at once, a favorite tables feature for quick access to often-used tables has been implemented, and quick filter displayed rows are now available.

Also, support for scatter charts has been added, the support for the SQL Validator has been added, a warning about the MySQL extension being deprecated and removed from the extension directive has been added, and a table comment tooltip has been added in the database structure page.

A complete list of changes is available in the official changelog, which can also be found in the downloaded source archive. You can download phpMyAdmin 4.2.0 right now from Softpedia.
