phpMyAdmin, the popular tool written in PHP intended to handle the administration of MySQL databases, has just reached version 4.0.9 RC1.

The first Beta of phpMyAdmin 4.0.9 RC1 has been launched and is ready for testing. The developers have implemented quite a few changes and improvements.

Highlights of phpMyAdmin 4.0.9 RC1:

• The view can now be edited while searching; • The refresh is now available after deleting databases; • Filtering database names no longer includes empty groupings; • phpMyAdmin now displays or manipulates bit(64) fields correctly; • SSL no longer redirects to port 80.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
