We reported a couple of weeks ago that the second maintenance of ownCloud Desktop Client 1.8 was out and work had started on the next point release, ownCloud Desktop Client 1.8.3, which was unveiled recently for Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows operating systems.

According to the changelog, which we've attached at the end of the article for reference, ownCloud Desktop Client 1.8.3 is a small release that fixes some of the most annoying issues reported by users since the previous stable version of the software.

A bug that could cause the Windows Explorer to crash has been plugged from the Windows Installer of the application, there are now fewer "Connection closed" errors, and a crash has been addressed in Shibboleth by allowing the webview to use its own QNAM.

Moreover, *.tmp files have been removed from system ignore, so if you want to ignore all .tmp files in the application, you'll have to add a filter to the user ignore list. Lastly, a remote discovery that occurred after changing the ignore list has been fixed.

Download ownCloud Desktop Client 1.8.3 for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X operating systems right now from Softpedia. Being an open-source application, you can also download its source code from the Linux entry above or directly from the project's website, whichever suits you best.
