openSUSE Edu Li-f-e 12.3, a distribution based on the openSUSE distribution, has been announced by the openSUSE Education team.

The Edu Li-f-e edition of OpenSuSE is bundled with a lot of goodies, useful for students, teachers, as well as IT admins of educational institutions.

Highlights of openSUSE Edu Li-f-e 12.3:

• The current version integrates KDE, GNOME 3.6, XFCE, and Enlightenment desktop environments; • VirtualBox 4.2 has been integrated by default; • The distribution has switched from MySQL to MariaDB; • Complete packages for OpenStack have been implemented; • Mono 3 now supports the new async C# 5.0; • KIWI (5.04.37) with support for creation of images for arm-based boards has been implemented; • Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.7.
