openSUSE Conference, an event bringing together a wide variety of free and open source contributors to collaborate on one of the major Linux distribution projects, will be held this year in Prague.

openSUSE Conference 2012 (oSC12) will take place during four days, from October 20th to October 23th, in Prague, at the Czech Technical University.

The theme of the event will be “Bootstrapping awesome!”, a slogan dictated by the fact that two other conferences will be held there at the same time.

The first one will be LinuxDays Conference, a community effort replacing the well-known commercial LinuxExpo conference, which was a big event in the Czech republic with a long tradition.

The second concurrent event will be the Gentoo Mini-summit, organized by a few (open)SUSE/Gentoo people in Prague, that will bring together a number of core Gentoo developers to talk about hacking and the future of the distribution.

The organizers of the OpenSuSE Conference 2012 event is asking the community to send session proposals, and assures us that the registration will be opened soon.

More information about the event can be found in the official announcement.
