14 DAY TRIAL // Michel Dänzer, a graphics driver engineer, working for AMD, had the pleasure of announcing the Linux community on February 19, 2016, about the immediate availability for download of the first point release of xf86-video-amdgpu 1.0.
As you may know, xf86-video-amdgpu is the open-source X.Org driver for GNU/Linux operating system, which has been forked from the open-source xf86-video-ati AMD Radeon graphics driver to support the AMDGPU kernel driver introduced in Linux kernel 4.2.
Today's release, xf86-video-amdgpu 1.0.1, is a small one that mainly adds support for the upcoming Mesa 11.2 3D Graphics Library release by patching a bug that could have prevented the driver from starting up correctly if the glamour functionality was enabled.
"I'm pleased to announce the release of version 1.0.1 of xf86-video-amdgpu, the Xorg driver for AMD GPUs using the amdgpu kernel driver," said Michel Dänzer. "This is a pure bugfix release with the main purpose of fixing a bug which would prevent the driver from initializing successfully with glamor enabled on top of the upcoming Mesa 11.2 release."
