CloudLinux's Mykola Naugolnyi is announcing today, January 30, 2017, the release of a new kernel update for the CloudLinux 7 operating system series to the Beta channels.

From the release announcement, it would appear that the CloudLinux 7 kernel has been updated to version 3.10.0-427.36.1.lve1.4.35, and it attempts to address the "no ops on block" error for XFS filesystems.

All CloudLinux 7 users running Beta kernel 3.10.0-427.36.1.lve1.4.33 or a previous version are urged to update to the new kernel version as soon as possible. The new kernel build is available for download from CloudLinux's updates-testing repository.

To install kernel 3.10.0-427.36.1.lve1.4.35 on your CloudLinux 7 operating system, all you have to do is open a terminal emulator or switch to a virtual console and run the following command as root.

yum install kernel-3.10.0-427.36.1.lve1.4.35.el7 kmod-lve-1.4-35.el7 --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing Of course, you should reboot the machine(s) after installing the new kernel version, but only if you're not using KernelCare, CloudLinux's kernel live patch technology that lets users update the kernel packages without system disruption.

We recommend that you always keep your operating systems or infrastructure up to date with the latest package versions, especially the kernel, as newer releases patch critical security flaws that may allow an attacker to harm the system.
