CloudLinux's Mykola Naugolnyi is announcing today, January 12, 2017, the availability of a new kernel for the CloudLinux 7 series of enterprise-ready operating systems in the Beta channels.

The updated CloudLinux 7 kernel, versioned 3.10.0-427.36.1.lve1.4.32, is now available from the company's "updates-testing" repository, and those brave enough to take it for a test drive to see if it fixes some issues they had with previous kernel version can use the command below to install it.

yum install kernel-3.10.0-427.36.1.lve1.4.32.el7 kmod-lve-1.4-32.el7 --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing In the brief announcement, Mr. Naugolnyi notes the fact that the new CloudLinux 7 kernel is highly recommended for all users using the Beta kernels. As for the changes, kernel 3.10.0-427.36.1.lve1.4.32 disables the procfs (process filesystem) restricted mode by default due to issues when the CageFS virtualized file system was enabled.

Without any further ado, if you're using kernel 3.10.0-427.36.1.lve1.4.30 on your CloudLinux 7 installation(s), you are urged to update to kernel 3.10.0-427.36.1.lve1.4.32 as soon as possible. See the command below if you don't know how to do that, and don't forget to reboot your computer(s) if you're not using KernelCare.

If no critical issues are reported during Beta testing, CloudLinux will promote the new kernel to the stable channel for all users who want to update. We'll keep you informed as soon as that happens, and it's always a good practice to keep your machines up to date, stay safe from threats, and keep your data protected.
