The website makes no mention of dates or models

It's difficult to gage the success of the Ubuntu Phones, but there are three devices with Ubuntu in the wild and one of them is no longer available. On the other hand, the official website does say "more Ubuntu phones coming soon."

We wrote yesterday about the number of Ubuntu phones that have been sold and used, but it was only an estimate. Canonical said nothing about numbers ever since it passed the 10,000 mark and they don't really seem all that concerned about the volume of phones on the market.

On the other hand, people from Canonical, including Mark Shuttleworth, said on numerous occasions that they don't really have any say in how many phones a company should put out into the market or what model to use. The partnership between Canonical and the hardware manufacturers seems to be about implementing Ubuntu on some of their devices, leaving the rest of the details in the hand of others.

Now, the Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition is no longer in stock and it looks like it's not coming back anytime soon. There were two versions available for purchase, white and gold, and they are both gone now. The interesting thing is that the Ubuntu official website now says "More Ubuntu phones coming soon," which might be a hint at other devices that could soon land.
