Hot on the heels of the major MKVToolNix 9.0.0 release, developer Moritz Bunkus pushed a first point release, which he calls an urgent hotfix to patch a couple of nasty bugs.

According to Mr. Bunkus, the MKVToolNix 9.0.1 update is here to address a regression introduced in the MKVToolNix 8.9.0 release, which affected the code handling character sets for text subtitle files, as well as to fix a bug in the automatic generation of chapters functionality.

"Due to two nasty bugs in v9.0.0 I’ve decided to release a hotfix with v9.0.1 today. The first bug is a regression from v8.9.0 in the code handling character sets for text subtitle files," said Moritz Bunkus. "The other bug is in the new code for generating chapters automatically."
