The distribution is based on the Ubuntu GNOME flavor

The LuninuX OS Ubuntu-based open source computer operating has reached a new milestone, version 15.10, after being in development for quite some time now.

Finally, LuninuX OS users get to see the latest and most advanced edition of the operating system and upgrade their installations from the old 12.10.0 (Quite Quail) release.

It looks like the developer is back in the game, after failing to build a few important milestones, among which we can mention 13.00.0 (Running Rabbit), 13.10.0 (Silly Snail), 14.00.0 (Talking Turtle), and 15.00.0 (Victory Viper).

Yeah, you've got to love the funny codenames the developer gives to new LuninuX OS releases. The latest one, LuninuX OS 15.10, has been dubbed the "Walking Walrus," based, of course, on Canonical's Wily Werewolf (a.k.a. Ubuntu 15.10).

"I have to say I have not done a very good job at keeping up with things but now that I am starting to have to have more time to do things, I will make sure to update the project regularly," said the LuninuX OS developer.

The fact of the matter is that LuninuX OS 15.10 is based on the Ubuntu GNOME flavor, thus shipping with the GNOME desktop environment. Below, we've prepared a screenshot tour for those of you who want to see what a "Walking Walrus" looks like.

In the meantime, you can download the LuninuX OS 15.10 Live ISO images for either 64-bit or 32-bit hardware architectures right now via Softpedia, and check out the project's website for additional information.
