Today, June 10, 2016, Valve has pushed a new major Steam Client update to the stable channels for all supported platforms, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.

There are numerous enhancements implemented in the June 10 Steam Client Update, starting with better compatibility for Valve's Steam Controller and Steam Link devices with the recently released DOOM 2016 first-person shooter game, and continuing with performance improvements to Vulkan apps with AMD hardware.

Among the general improvements that have been implemented in the Steam Client, we can mention a short idle-timer making sure Steam Client updates will no longer disrupt your typing as well as better resizing of windows. Moreover, the issue with missing Workshop content when uninstalling and reinstalling a game has been fixed.

Of course, there are also the usual platform-specific bug fixes. For example, SteamOS and GNU/Linux users will be able to launch the Steam Client when the Steam Runtime has been disabled, and Mac gamers should notice great improvements to the In-Game Overlay in Retina-aware games.

Some Steam VR enhancements have been added as well in today's stable Steam Client update, which you can install right now by accessing the Steam menu and clicking on the "Check for Steam Client Updates" entry, such as initial support for viewing stereo screenshots in VR.

Lastly, streaming of Vulkan applications has just got a lot better for Valve's In-Home Streaming feature. To see all the fixes and improvements added to the Steam Client Update June 10 release, please consult the release notes attached below. Update your Steam Client as soon as possible!
