The KDE community recently announced a new version of KDE Plasma, 5.3.2, and that version has been already implemented in the upcoming Kubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf).

As it's customary during Kubuntu development cycles, the latest version of the Plasma desktop has been implemented already, and it's now available for testing, if you happen to have a Kubuntu 15.10 running right now.

This is not the final version that will be made available with Kubuntu 15.10, which will be released this coming October. Its developers have already explained that they plan to ship distro with KDE Plasma 5.4, which is in the development right now and should be launched by the end of August.

If you already have Kubuntu 15.10 installed, then you should get the new Plasma release with just a regular update although you have to keep in mind that this version of Kubuntu is far from stable.

You can see more details about the KDE Plasma 5.3.2 release in our initial coverage and you can also download the latest version of Kubuntu 15.10 from Softpedia if you want to give it a spin. It's a Live CD, but it's also hybrid, and that means you can get the new updates without having to install anything.
