The KDE Project announced the immediate availability of the second maintenance update to the KDE Applications 17.04 stable series of the software suite for KDE Plasma 5 desktop environments.

Coming almost a month after the release of the first point release in the series, KDE Applications 17.04.2 is here today to fix more than 15 bugs that have been reported by users or discovered by the development team in various of the included apps and components, such as Kdenlive, Dolphin, Gwenview, Ark, and KDE PIM.

"Today KDE released the second stability update for KDE Applications 17.04. This release contains only bugfixes and translation updates, providing a safe and pleasant update for everyone. More than 15 recorded bugfixes include improvements to KDE PIM, Ark, Dolphin, Gwenview, Kdenlive, among others," reads today's release announcement.

Check out the full list of changes if you're curious to know what exactly was changed in each component and make sure to watch the stable software repositories of your favorite GNU/Linux distribution for the KDE Applications 17.04.2 packages and update as soon as they arrive.

KDE Applications 17.04.2 also brings a new maintenance release of the long-term supported KDE Development Platform, specifically version 4.14.33. The KDE Applications 17.04 software suite will receive one more such point release, namely KDE Applications 17.04.3, which is currently scheduled to land on July 13, 2017.

KDE Applications 17.04.3 will mark the end of life for the KDE Applications 17.04 series, so we expect to see the release schedule of the KDE Applications 17.10 branch online in the next few weeks, when the development will start. A Beta version of KDE Applications 17.10 should hit the streets this summer.
