A few moments ago, March 15, 2016, KDE released the third stability update for its KDE Applications 15.12 software suite, designed for the KDE Plasma 5.5.5 desktop environment.

KDE Applications 15.12.3 is mostly a bugfix release, promising fixes for over 15 issues reported by users since the previous maintenance version, KDE Applications 15.12.2, announced in mid-February 2016.

Among the KDE apps that received improvements as part of today's KDE Applications 15.12.3 maintenance release, we can mention KDE PIM (Personal Information Manager), Akonadi storage service, Ark archive manager, and KBlocks classic falling blocks game.

Additionally, the KCalc calculator utility, Umbrello IDE (Integrated Development Environment), and KTouch program for learning and practicing touch typing have been updated as well with performance improvements.

Besides fixing bugs for the KDE apps mentioned above, KDE Application 15.12.3 also brings translation updates and the newest version of the long-term support version of KDE Development Platform, 4.14.18.

KDE Applications 15.12.3 is available right now as source packages from the KDE website, but you should keep an eye on the main software repositories of your GNU/Linux operating system for the new version.

The Arch Linux repos have already received the KDE Applications 15.12.3 packages and users can update as we speak. This spring, KDE Applications 16.04 will enter development and the first production version should arrive on April 20, 2016.
