14 DAY TRIAL // KDE announced a few minutes ago that the Release Candidate (RC) version of the forthcoming KDE Applications 15.08 software suite for the KDE Plasma 5 desktop environment is available for download and testing.
KDE Applications 15.08 RC comes five days after the release of the Beta build on August 1, bringing more updates and bugfixes to the KDE applications that you love and use every day on your Plasma desktop.
"Today KDE released the release candidate of the new versions of KDE Applications. With dependency and feature freezes in place, the KDE team's focus is now on fixing bugs and further polishing," reads the announcement.
KDE urges all users willing to take this pre-release version of KDE Applications 15.08 for a test drive to download and install it on their GNU/Linux distributions through the usual channels. More details can be found in today's announcement.
The development cycle of the KDE Applications 15.08 ends with today's RC (Release Candidate) version, which means that we should be able to install the final release on August 19, 2015, if everything goes according to plan.
After the unveiling of the final version of KDE Applications 15.08 on August 19, 2015, the KDE developers will publish three maintenance releases, KDE Applications 15.08.1 on September 15, KDE Applications 15.08.2 on October 13, and KDE Applications 15.08.3 on November 10, 2015.
