Once again, Kubuntu's Marco Parillo comes with great news for users of the KDE-based Ubuntu Linux operating system, as he has just announced the immediate availability of the recently released KDE Applications 15.08.1 software suite for the KDE Plasma 5.4 desktop environment on the default repositories of the Kubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) operating system.

KDE announced the first point release of the KDE Applications 15.08 software collection on the day of September 15, 2015, a release that introduced fixes for more than 40 bugs reported by users since the previous version, but also various under-the-hood improvements, along with the availability of the long-term supported KDE Development Platform 4.14.12.

Among the applications and core components that received improvements in KDE Applications 15.08.1, we can mention the Dolphin file manager, Konsole terminal emulator, Kdenlive video editor, Ark archive manager, Marble virtual globe and world atlas, Umbrello IDE, Kompare diff/patch frontend, KDE PIM suite, as well as the KDE libraries. More details can be found in our initial report.

Therefore, if you're running the Kubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) operating system, which is currently in development, you can now update the KDE Applications 15.08 component to version 15.08.1 directly from the default software repositories. The Final Beta build of Kubuntu 15.10 will be released later today, September 24, 2015, and we will publish a detailed article with all of its features as soon as it gets out.
