I recently had a quick chat with Linux evangelist Brian Byrne, known by many as Brian Linuxing, who invited me to an upcoming event that I want to tell you about in this short and painless blog entry.

The event is called Linuxing in London, and it is the first of its kind for those who live in London, England, or surrounding areas. It is a Linux event for those who are curious about Linux as an operating system for their personal computers, but also for vendors who want to distribute a free OS with open-source software on their devices.

"Everyday we use Linux without even knowing it. It powers Google, Facebook, Docker and most of the Internet infrastructure. Without Linux the world would not be as connected as it is, or look as it does," reads the event's page. "Linux is striking, it is changing every week, there are new products coming out, almost at the speed of light."

The first Linuxing in London meetup is taking place tomorrow, May 31, 2016, but if that's too soon for you to go, you should know that the event will he held on the last Tuesday of every month. Where? At Skills Matter, CodeNode, 10 South Pl, London EC2M 7EB, United Kingdom. Refreshments and giveaways of goodies are on the menu, so be there if you care about the future of Linux!
