Paolo Bacchilega announced the other day, October 10, 2016, the release and immediate availability for download of the fourth maintenance update to the stable gThumb 3.4 series.

gThumb is an open-source image viewer and browser application designed for the GNOME desktop environment, and gThumb 3.4.4 is now the most advanced version, introducing a bunch of interesting and useful new features, such as faster finding of duplicate images, as well as the ability to open the folder after creating a new one.

Moreover, gThumb 3.4.4 is here to fix the catalog cardinality for the image organizer component, automatically hide the image frame when entering full-screen mode, correct display of the headerbar buttons after activating a tool, and an improved Print dialog that now expands the options side to make the zoom slider visible.

There are also various small, yet needed bug fixes implemented in gThumb 3.4.4. For example, the right image will now be loaded after deleting a photo from a catalog, the size of the gThumb Preferences dialog should no longer cause issues, and the scrollbars won't reset their position when attempting to change the image.

Last but not least, the Croatian and Indonesian language translations have been updated. gThumb 3.4.4 is now available for download via our website as a source package that you'll have to compile for your GNU/Linux distribution. You can look for the update in the main, stable repositories of your OS in the coming days.
