After releasing a new stable build of his popular Clonezilla Live project, an open-source disk cloning Live CD utility based on the Clonezilla software, Steven Shiau unveiled on August 6 the stable build of GParted Live 0.23.0-1 project.

As expected, Gparted Live 0.23.0-1 comes right after the release of the GParted 0.23.0 open-source partition editor software, which adds many interesting features, such as support for setting new Btrfs file system UUIDs and the ability to display a disk's serial number in the device information dialog.

Furthermore, GParted 0.23.0 is now capable of adding a partition name to the create dialog, as well as enabling online naming of partitions, something useful for GUID Partition Table (GPT) partitioned disks. Also, the application will no longer hang when attempting to resize FAT16, FAT32, HFS, and HFS+ file systems.

Powered by Linux kernel 4.1.3 LTS (Long-Term Support), GParted Live 0.23.0-1 includes GParted 0.23.0, as well as all the updates released in the Debian Sid software repository as of August 6, 2015. Download GParted Live 0.23.0-1 right now from Softpedia for 64-bit, 32-bit, and 32-bit PAE hardware architectures.
