Tracker 1.5.1 is now available for download and testing

Exactly one week ago, we reported on the Tracker 1.5.0 open-source semantic data storage engine for desktop and mobile devices, which is being used as the main search engine for GNOME-based Linux operating systems.

Today, July 22, Martyn Russell has announced the immediate availability of the first maintenance release for Tracker 1.5, which fixes multiple issues with the RSS Rich Site Summary) miner, such as memory leaks, stability problems, support for outputting more complete data on the tracker-store components, and the ability to perform automatic maintenance of feed messages.

There are also performance improvements for the handling of delete operations in the tracker-store and tracker-miner-fs components, fixes for redundant queries in the tracker-extract component, as well as a patch for a leak in the main resource table id/urn. Also, Tracker 1.5.1 now requires the libgrss 0.7 library or later, and the Spanish, Hungarian, and Portuguese language translations have been updated.

Download Tracker 1.5.1 sources right now from Softpedia. This version is being distributed as part of the forthcoming GNOME 3.17.4 desktop environment, which should see the light of day very soon. Below, we've attached the official changelog for those who want to study it.
