The GNOME Project has released a new development milestone for the LaTeXila software, an open-source TeX and LaTeX editor used by default in the GNOME desktop environment.

LaTeXila 3.17.0 is now available for download and testing as part of the unstable GNOME 3.17.4 release, and according to the internal changelog attached at the end of the article, it brings several new features requested by users.

For example, two new buttons have been added to the integrated file browser component, allowing users to open the current folder in either a terminal emulator or a file manager, such as Nautilus (Files).

The existing indent/unindent feature is now available in the Edit menu, the completion functionality now supports two undo actions, and the Ctrl+PageUp and Ctrl+PageDown keyboard shortcuts can be used for tab switching.

Last but not least, LaTeXila 3.17.0 improves the read-only mode for default build utilities, uses a headerbar for the dialog windows, and revamps the templates feature. You can find more details about this release below.

As usual, you can download the LaTeXila 3.17.0 sources right now from Softpedia, but keep in mind that it is a pre-release version, not suitable for production use in a stable environment.
