The GNOME developers are hard at work these days preparing the release of the GNOME 3.17.3 desktop environment, a milestone towards GNOME 3.18, which means that many of its core components received updates, including the Epiphany web browser.

According to the attached changelog, Epiphany 3.17.1 is here to add support for opening links in a new incognito window, to add a new option that allows you to search selected text in your favorite search engine, as well as to improve the default theme and patch regressions in the form filler.

Moreover, the internationalization in the search provider has been improved, and various other minor issues have been repaired. Lastly, several language translations have been updated in Epiphany 3.17.1, which will be available for testing as part of the GNOME 3.17.3 desktop environment release.

You can download the Epiphany 3.17.1 sources right now from Softpedia, but please try to keep in mind that this is a pre-release software and it has some rough edges here and there. Therefore, we do not recommend installing it on production environments where stability is essential.
