Kornelix, the developer of the popular Fotoxx open-source image editor software for GNU/Linux operating systems, informed us about the release and immediate availability for download of Fotoxx 15.09.

According to the release notes, which we've attached at the end of the article for reference, Fotoxx 15.09 increases the performance of the Panorama function by 20 percent. The developer informs us that it will take 18 seconds to process 3 photos of 7MP each on a computer powered by a 2GHz CPU.

Moreover, the program has been updated for the latest GTK API breakage introduced in the upcoming Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) operating system, adds the ability to set the font size on dialogs and menus, reinstates the "Area Copy and Paste" function, which proved to be much faster and easier to use than Save and Open.

There are three bugfixes in Fotoxx 15.09, one for a crash in the "Flatten Book Page" functionality that occurred during marking of page edges, another one for the "use of contrast as edit lever" function in Leverage Edit, and a third one for an issue with the Slide Show feature, related to blanks in translated transition names.

Last but not least, the Paint Transparency feature has been improved to no longer have a response lag when processing large photos, vacated margins' alpha channel can now be used on all bend functions, and a new Calibrate Printer tool was added to improve the accuracy of image print color.
