ffDiaporama 2.2, an application that can be used to create video sequences consisting of titles, videos, images or photos, movie clips, and music, has finally arrived.

ffDiaporama had a lot of development versions for the 2.1 branch, and the 2.2 version is the same. The makers of the application are implementing features and fixes slowly, in small increments.

According to the changelog, the gap between the ref-frames in the rendered video has been increased to reduce the flicker (from 4 to 2 per second), the preview player and the player of the video editing dialog are now working even if there is no music track, and a crash that occurred when the user clicks on the time bar and the project is empty has been fixed.

The developer is not providing binary files for the development versions, but he does provide a PPA for users who want to test it. Just enter the following commands in a terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ffdiaporamateam/daily sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade

Check the official announcement for a complete list of changes and improvements. You can download the development version of ffDiaporama 2.2 sources right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
