It would appear that the upcoming Fedora 26 Linux operating system has been quietly delayed by a week, and it now looks like the final release will hit the streets on June 13, 2017.

According to the official release schedule, Fedora 26 Linux operating system was initially planned for a release on June 6, 2017, but due to some unforeseen events, the development team decided to delay it by a week, including the Alpha and Beta versions.

Therefore, the Fedora 26 Alpha release should now land on March 21 instead of March 14, and it looks like the Beta version will see the light of day on May 16 instead of May 9. As mentioned before, the final release of Fedora 26 Linux is now scheduled for June 13.

Next week, on February 28, Fedora 26 will be branched from Rawhide, which will automatically become Fedora 27. We reported earlier that Fedora Project decided to drop Alpha releases starting with Fedora 27, recommending users to test Rawhide instead.

Other important dates of the Fedora 26 Linux release schedule are Alpha and Software String Freeze on March 7, along with the Bodhi activation point, the Software Translation Deadline on April 18, Beta Freeze on May 2, and Final Freeze on May 30.

Most probably, the upcoming Fedora 26 Linux operating system will suffer additional delays, depending if critical bugs are discovered during its development cycle, which could push the final release to the end of June. As usual, we'll keep you guys updated if anything changes.
