14 DAY TRIAL // Dennis Gilmore from the Fedora Project has published a reminder informing the community that the Fedora 22 Linux operating system will reach end of life in approximately one month from today, on July 19, 2016.
Officially unveiled on May 26, 2015, Fedora 22 Linux distribution was built around various GNU/Linux technologies that were the norm back then, such as the GNOME 3.16, Xfce 4.12, MATE 1.10.0, and KDE Plasma 5 desktop environments, Linux kernel 4.0, and many others.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, so today we're announcing to our Fedora readers that their Fedora 22 installations will expire soon, which means that Fedora Project will no longer offer security patches and software updates as of July 19, 2016. Therefore, you need to move to a recent Fedora release as soon as possible.
"This is a reminder email about the end of life process for Fedora 22. Fedora 22 will reach end of life on 2016-07-19, and no further updates will be pushed out after that time. Additionally, with the recent release of Fedora 24, no new packages will be added to the Fedora 22 collection," says Dennis Gilmore.
Now that the Fedora 24 Linux operating system has been officially released, it will be wise for any user who still runs Fedora 22 on their desktop or server computer to move to Fedora 24 immediately.
