Kore is a dedicated Android app that can be used to control the Kodi media hub. A new major and stable version has been released for it.

The community is waiting for the big Kodi 16.0 "Jarvis" release, but in the meantime, we can enjoy a great Android app that can be used to control this media hub. We wrote about the Beta version that was made available a couple of weeks ago, but it looks like the work has been completed.

"Our developer SyncedSynapse has been putting a lot of work on including new features and improving what was already there. Additionally it’ s also great to see that developers from outside of the team are helping getting it better," reads the official website.

The developers have added a number of very interesting features like the possibility of running addons straight from the phone, without having to go through the Kodi interface; it's now possible to send any YouTube video to Kodi, directional keys controlling video playback, and many other changes and improvements have been made.

This application has been in the making for a while, but you can download the 2.0 version right now from the Google Play. The supported platforms include XBMC 12.x "Frodo" and 13.x Gotham, and Kodi 14.x "Helix" and 15.x "Isengard." Most likely, the support for Kodi 16.0 "Jarvis" will be added with a simple update.
