The GNOME developers are working overtime these days to push the packages for the first point release of the GNOME 3.20 desktop environment on the official channels.

GNOME 3.20.1 is currently scheduled for an April 13 release, so we can't help but notice that many of the desktop's core components and applications have been updated lately to the 3.20.1 version.

And today we want to share with you some of the new features introduced in the Epiphany 3.20.1 web browser. As usual, we've managed to get our hands on the internal changelog, which we have attached at the end of the article for reference.

Major new features in Epiphany 3.20.1 include support for always storing passwords in the Web application mode, the ability to open WebP files with the Open dialog, and support for closing the History dialog just by using the Esc (Escape) key.

Furthermore, the download popover can now be activated immediately after the download starts or when it has been completed, there's better support for the Wayland display server, as well as improvements to saving of multiple windows as a session.

Last but not least, stale overview snapshots can now be avoided, and numerous language translations have been updated. If you're using GNOME 3.20 with Epiphany 3.20, you'll be able to update to version 3.20.1 in the coming days. In the meantime, you can download the Epiphany 3.20.1 sources right now via our website.
