The developers of the open-source Enlightenment desktop environment used in numerous GNU/Linux distributions announced the immediate availability of the eighth maintenance release of the Enlightenment DR 0.19 series.

According to the release notes, Enlightenment 0.19.8 is mostly a bugfix release that repairs an SVID_SOURCE complaint warning, removes additional object references from the Enlightenment Menu, and adds better deletion support on the Shelf Menu.

Furthermore, X11 mouse wheel events are now allowed for checking ev->event_window for possible client match, X11 NotifyInferior and NotifyVirtual mouse events are now rejected, and gadget zones are now used for all gadget launchers.

A build issue that was introduced in the previous version has now been fixed, ecore-evas events will now be disabled on client windows during actions, and a false focus setting has been removed from the desk flip that has no animation.

Moreover, the wizard module will now load correctly when the E_MODULE_SRC_PATH environment variable is set, fallback loading of the default theme has been added to init, and drag objects are now displayed immediately when the drag operation begins.

Last but not least, focus-setting is now automatically suspended on focus revert during desk flip, but only when visibility is pending. Download Enlightenment DR 0.19.8 right now from Softpedia.
