Immediately after having announced the major Enlightenment 0.19.6 release, the developers of the modern and lightweight desktop environment used in numerous GNU/Linux distributions offered Enlightenment 0.19.7 for download.

According to the brief release notes, Enlightenment DR 0.19.7 is a hotfix release that adds better support for versions of the EFL component that are not from the 1.15 series. This translates into improved X11 compatibility with EFL 1.14 and lower.

"This hotfix release improves on the 0.19.6 release and improves compatibility with versions of EFL prior to the 1.15 series. It is required that anyone wanting to use such versions of EFL use this release instead of the 0.19.6 release," reads the announcement.

Moreover, runtime checks are now used in the Enlightenment DR 0.19.7 desktop environment to determine the grab behavior of the X11 compositor. Download Enlightenment 0.19.7 right now from Softpedia.

We remind everyone that the Enlightenment 0.19.6 release, which was announced last week, on July 23, 2015, introduces a great number of new features and fixes numerous annoying bugs reported by users, so we recommend reading our in-depth article (see the link posted at the beginning of the article).
