A new update has been released for elementary

elementary OS "Freya" has been out for some time now, but developers are still adding features to it despite the fact that it has been dubbed stable. Now, users have the option to define custom keyboard shortcuts, which was a very sought after feature.

elementary OS "Freya" is one of the few Linux operating systems with regular releases that get new features long after the release. Usually, developers focus on fixing bugs, security problems, and general maintenance. We rarely get to see a new feature implemented after the official launch of an OS, but it's always good news.

"Tada! This is a request we get all the time, and now it’s here as part of your regular updates. The latest version of the Keyboard settings pane brings a new section 'Custom' under the 'Shortcuts' tab. Open up Software Updater and check it out. If you like what you see here, don't forget to help us out with funding. This fix was brought to you via Bountysource," reads the announcement from Daniel Fore.

The fact that it's coming via Bountysource is also an interesting sign that paid work for bugs and features is starting to take off. It's likely that we'll see more features land in this way.
