EasyTAG, the open-source audio tag editor software, has reached version 2.4 earlier today, August 29, bringing multiple performance and stability improvements, as well as several updated translations, available right now for download on GNU/Linux and Windows operating systems.

According to the internal changelog (attached at the end of the article for reference), EasyTAG 2.4 fixes an issue that made the app run multiple CDDB (Compact Disc Database) searches to start during a single execution, and improves the handling of file list selection.

Furthermore, EasyTAG is now capable of handling tags with empty images, remembers the paned position of the main window during application restart, corrects the disc number format specifier to %z, and makes the Windows version link to the Online help page of the app.

Several crashes have been repaired in EasyTAG 2.4, one that occurred when attempting to delete files from within the app, another one that occurred during reading of FLAC audio files, and a third one that occurred when attempting to navigate the directory browser using a the keyboard.

Last but not least, a few internal FIXMEs have been removed during refactoring, and the British English, German, Hungarian, French, Turkish, Spanish, Czech, Catalan, and Polish language translations have been updated.
