The Q4OS Team sent an email to Softpedia HQ a few minutes ago informing us about the availability of the Q4OS 1.2.8 'Live' operating system, a release that introduces a revamped Setup utility and fixes several annoying issues reported by users.

The redesigned Setup utility introduced in Q4OS 1.2.8 'Live' is a native Q4OS tool that lets users smoothly and easily install external apps in the distribution. Among the new features implemented, we can mention the ability to solve more complex package dependencies, as well as support for installing extra useful apps without user intervention.

Furthermore, a message box has been integrated for displaying human readable installation messages. As usual, the new Q4OS release brings with it many other under-the-hood improvements and plugged bugs. Existing Q4OS users will get all these updates through the official channels in the coming days, thanks to the built-in automatic unattended upgrade mechanism.

The Q4OS Team also mentioned the fact that one of the next maintenance releases of the distribution will get better integration of GTK+ themes into the user interface. In the mean time, those of you who want to take the Q4OS distro for a test drive can download the Q4OS 1.2.8 Live release right now from Softpedia.
