Juergen Daubert from the CRUX development team has had the great pleasure of announcing the final release and immediate availability for download of the CRUX 3.2 GNU/Linux operating system.

Powered by the long-term supported Linux 4.1.13 kernel, the CRUX 3.2 distribution comes today with an updated multilib toolchain that includes up-to-date open-source software packages like GNU Binutils 2.25.1, GNU C Library (glibc) 2.22, and GCC (GNU Compiler Collection) 5.2.0.

"The CRUX team is happy to announce the release of CRUX 3.2," said Juergen Daubert in the release announcement. "Please take the time to read through the release notes since it contains information on a couple of changes. Please report any issues."

Furthermore, CRUX 3.2 now uses the latest and most advanced X.Org 7.7 and X.Org Server 1.18.0 display server technologies, along with full UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) support available directly from the ISO image, allowing users to install the OS on UEFI systems.

The operating system is now distributed as an ISO-hybrid image, which means that users will be able to write it on either a USB flash drive or a CD disc. Download CRUX 3.2 right now from Softpedia. The OS is supported on both 64-bit and 32-bit hardware architectures, and it's targeted at experienced users who are looking for a minimal yet powerful GNU/Linux distribution. More details can be found in the official release notes.
