Company of Heroes 2, a real-time strategy game developed by Relic Entertainment and ported for Linux users by Feral Interactive, has been officially released on Steam for Linux and other stores.

Feral Interactive announced a while back that it was working on a port for Company of Heroes and they even set a launch date, August 27. This was particularly odd because Linux ports rarely get launch dates. In fact, it happens quite a lot for Linux users to be surprised that a game has been released for their platform, out of the blue.

In fact, developer wanted to make the Company of Heroes 2 Linux launch coincide with a new major DLC for the game, named The British Forces. To this effect, they also reduced the price of the base game with 75%, which is actually quite a lot.

“Stock up on munitions and take cover fast - Mac and Linux have invaded Steam with the full force of Company of Heroes 2. DLC including the Theater of War mission packs, as well as additional Commanders and Skins, is also out now via in-store purchase,” reads the official announcement.

The game is now available on Steam for Linux and in the Feral store, and the 75% cut should be available until August 31. Please keep in mind that not all of the DLCs come with Linux support.
