Codename CURE is a new FPS co-operative zombie title developed and published Steam by Hoobalugalar_X. A Linux version of the game is also available.

It's difficult to find free games on Steam, especially quality ones, but Codename CURE is one of the few. Sure, it's still in the Early Access program, and it's not complete, but the reception has been very good until now.

"As a team of special military operatives utilising a range of powerful weapons and equipment (assault rifles, shotguns, sentry guns, supply chests and more), players are tasked with curing infected areas of a post-apocalyptic world by planting controlled explosives before pulling a short sharp exit," is noted on Steam.

Early Access means that users are able to buy and play it, even if it's not complete. There is no indication of when the game will become stable, but developers constantly improve it and that is a really good sign.

The system requirements for Codename CURE are not high. Users will need at least Ubuntu 12.04, a dual core from Intel or AMD at 2.8 GHz,  2 GB of RAM, nVidia GeForce 8 or better, and 4 GB of HDD space.

The game hasn't been around for long, but it's already gathered quite a following and the servers are full of willing players.
