After announcing earlier this week the availability of a new Beta kernel for CloudLinux 7 and CloudLinux 6 Hybrid users, CloudLinux's Mykola Naugolnyi is now informing us about the release of a Beta kernel for CloudLinux 6 users.

The updated CloudLinux 6 Beta kernel is tagged as build 2.6.32-673.26.1.lve1.4.26 and it's here to replace kernel 2.6.32-673.26.1.lve1.4.25. It is available right now for download from CloudLinux's updates-testing repository and backports a fix (CKSIX-109) for R1Soft's backup solution from CloudLinux 7's kernel.

If you're running CloudLinux 6 and you want to install this new Beta kernel version on your environment, you'll need to run the following commands in a terminal emulator or the virtual console, which you can activate with the ALT+F2 keyboard shortcut. Please reboot your installations after installing the new kernel.

yum clean all --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing
yum install kernel-2.6.32-673.26.1.lve1.4.26.el6 kmod-lve-1.4-26.el6 --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing
Meanwhile, the CloudLinux kernel team works hard to thoroughly test these new, updated Beta kernels for CloudLinux 7, CloudLinux 6 Hybrid, and CloudLinux 6 series of operating systems to be able to promote them to the stable channel in the coming days or weeks.

We remind you that CloudLinux 7 is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and CloudLinux 6 is developed using the freely distributed sources of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 operating system. Support for the CloudLinux 5 series was terminated last month on March 31, 2017, as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 also reached end of life.
