On August 5, Steven Shiau, the developer of the popular Clonezilla Live disk cloning utility, had the great pleasure of announcing the immediate availability for download of Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-32, a new stable release of the project.

According to the internet release notes, which we have attached at the end of the article for reference, starting with version 2.4.2-32, Clonezilla Live is powered by Linux kernel 4.1.3-1 LTS (Long Term Support).

Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-32 uses updated software packages based on the latest Debian Sid software repositories as of August 5, 2015, such as Partclone 0.2.81-drbl2, which brings updates to the e2fs and XFS libraries used by the disk partition cloning program.

Moreover, the new Clonezilla Live version deprecates the use of the "--print-id" in favor of the "--part-type" one, which was implemented in the ocs-get-part-info program. As usual, you can download Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-32 right now from Softpedia.

Last but not least, a bug that affected the restoration of SWAP partitions when cloned images saved from sda partitions were restored to sdb partitions was fixed in Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-32. The bug was found in the get_swap_partition_sf_format function, as it failed to parse the sdb-pt.sf file.
