Chakra GNU/Linux maintainer Neofytos Kolokotronis is informing today users of the community-developed GNU/Linux distribution with an emphasis on KDE and Qt technologies about the availability of the latest KDE releases in stable repos.

The good news we want to share with you today is that if you're running Chakra GNU/Linux on your personal computer, you can now update it to the recently released KDE Plasma 5.10.2 desktop environment, KDE Applications 17.04.2 software suite, and KDE Frameworks 5.35.0, all built against the latest Qt 5.9 application framework.

"We are also packing a surprise with this update, as our home-grown Heritage theme for Plasma ships with many modern touches by @gnastyle, including a reworked splash screen, lock-screen and shutdown dialog screens, as well as several icon enhancements," said Neofytos Kolokotronis in today's announcement.

Apart from the latest KDE and Qt technologies, Chakra GNU/Linux users can now install Wine 2.10, FFMpeg 3.2.5, mobile-broadband-provider-info 20170310, and pacman-mirrorlist 20170609, which comes built-in with a brand new mirror from Germany hosted by alpix.eu. Various other components were fixed or update as well.

All Chakra GNU/Linux users are urged to update their installations as soon as possible to receive all the components mentioned above. To update, simply open a terminal emulator (e.g. Konsole) and run the "sudo pacman -Syu" command. If you can't update, it means that the mirrors you're using have not yet been synced with the main server, so check again in a few hours.
