Ubuntu and Fedora users based on London are needed

Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu Linux, the world's most popular free operating system, announced just a few minutes ago on their Twitter, Google+ and Facebook accounts that they're running a new user research study.

The study is about Ubuntu applications developed by members of the Ubuntu Linux community for the next-generation Unity 8 user interface that Canonical will implement by default in upcoming releases of the OS.

The research study is led by Ting-Ray Chang, a user experience researcher at Canonical, and it is targeted mainly at Ubuntu or Fedora users in the London (United Kingdom) area. Why Fedora? That we don't know!

"We're doing some research and would love your help! We're looking for participants for a user research study on community-developed Ubuntu Apps in Unity 8," reads today's Facebook announcement.

So if you live in the London area and have five minutes to answer a few questions to help Canonical find out what Ubuntu apps users would like to see for Unity 8, go ahead and fill out the form at http://goo.gl/forms/v3LUjgoc8n.

In the survey, Canonical would like to know what email, terminal, calendar, diary, and music apps you use on your computer or mobile phone, so we can only guess that they're rethinking the default apps for Ubuntu on the desktop and phone for Unity 8.

Please also note that, if you participate in the research study, you'll have to attend a session in London at SE1 0FQ Blue Fin Building 5F, which may take between 45 and 60 minutes. A cash incentive is provided accordingly.
