Zbigniew Konojacki informs Softpedia today about the general availability of BakAndImgCD 21.0, a new major build of his independently-developed 4MLinux fork designed for data backup and disk imaging operations.

Based on the 4MLinux 21.0 backup scripts, BakAndImgCD 21.0 is here to help you perform data backup tasks on a Linux, macOS, or Windows computer, supporting the Btrfs,  EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, XFS, Reiser4, ReiserFS, JFS, F2FS, NILFS2, HFS, HFS+, FAT16, FAT32, or NTFS filesystem.

The tiny Linux-based Live CD can also be used for disk imaging operations, as it's bundled with the Partclone, Partimage, and GNU ddrescue utilities, which can be used for saving and restoring used blocks on a disk partition, as well as copy data from one file or block device to another.

Zbigniew Konojacki told Softpedia that BakAndImgCD 21.0 is now the latest and most advanced version of the Live CD, which can be used independently of the operating system installed on the target computer, shipping with updated components borrowed from the 4MLinux 21.0 series of GNU/Linux distributions.

BakAndImgCD 21.0 is now available for download from our website, along with the Beta version of 4MLinux 21.0, which is currently under heavy development. If you're waiting for 4MLinux 21.0, the developers inform us that it should be finalized in March 2017. Both releases are using the long-term supported Linux 4.4 kernel series.
